Magnesium is an essential mineral that plays a role in over 300 biochemical reactions, including muscle relaxation, nerve function, and energy production. Low magnesium levels are surprisingly common and may leave muscles more prone to tightness, cramping, and fatigue.
While oral magnesium supplements are widely used, they are not always efficiently absorbed and may cause digestive side effects. Topical methods avoid these issues. A warm epsom salt bath allows magnesium sulfate to absorb through the skin while also improving circulation and relaxation. For more localized relief of tension, magnesium sprays can be applied directly to sore or affected areas.
